ABOUT THE ARTIST
Amalia Sanchez de la Blanca
I’m based in Brighton. I specialise in highly detailed portraits of iconic buildings. I work on CAD using the same software I used when I was an architect years ago.
As a former architect obviously I’m fascinated by architecture. I discovered my love of buildings while living in Los Angeles. The Modernist Case Study Houses I saw there made me realise I wanted to become an architect so I moved to the UK to study and qualified in 2005. I worked in offices for 17 years until I realised that I was more an artist doing an architect’s job so I left the industry to become an architectural illustrator and founded Linescapes in 2014. Since then I have created over 60 illustrations of iconic buildings as well as working on many bespoke commission projects for all kinds of cultural sector enterprises such as Chatsworth House and Canterbury Cathedral among others.
